Back Pain and Chiropractic Care

Chiropractors have always been successful at helping people with back pain.  So successful in fact that this has become known as what we do (but helping the spine to move properly can improve health in many other ways!).

Subluxations are misalignments of the spinal bones, changing the way the spine normally moves.  A person can often feel stiffness when this occurs.  If left uncorrected this problem causes inflammation (swelling) which is experienced as PAIN. Sometimes the pain can be in one spot that is easy to point to.  Sometimes the pain can radiate over a much wider area and even down the arms or legs (causing pain or numbness/tingling).  This is because the misalignment and swelling has irritated the nerve at that level.  Some nerves that exit the spine travel down the limbs and can alter your normal sensation in your arms and legs because of this.   Numbness in the hands or feet at night is a common symptom of this.
